Inevitably, the snow will fall. The dark days will also descend on us far too quickly, and winter will be here.
The hole at the end of the world
It was an easy hike. around a glacial lake shore, through a wildflower meadow, and along the bed of a rushing creek. But once I rounded that bend, what i saw was not what I expected.
Nothing like a little fear…
Day 1 – Helihiking Adventure continued – 2014. The Fire.
We arrived back at the lodge. It was a crazy hot day and the evening was no cooler. After dinner a few people congregated on the deck to enjoy the refreshing but infrequent mountain breeze.
Someone came rushing into the dining room yelling for us to grab our cameras and head outside.
The Big Picture
If I had thought that last year’s helihiking photo tour was spectacular, this years adventure was out of the realm of description. Better scenery, better weather, better shots, better group, and better photographer/leader. It was both literally and figuratively OVER THE TOP.Continue Reading

Astounding!
That’s all I can say. I finally got around to working on my mountain photos. I had some time to work on them while at my parent’s this past week. It helped kept me from getting too depressed – but in betweeen business meetings and lawyers etc, photography was a welcome distraction.
Pillars of Time
There is a lyric in a Blue Rodeo song…”Til I Gain Control Again.”
“Just like the sun over the mountain top you know I’ll always come again
You know I love to spend my morning time like sunlight dancing on your skin”

After all these years vising my parents out here in BC, I’m finally starting to meet their friends and neighbours. When something bad is going on, this little community so absolutely pulls together. In a matter of 2 days everyone has called and offered their thoughts, and is checking in asking about my dad and offering all kinds of help – even though I am essentially a stranger in “town.” Continue Reading
