Steve Jobs
“There is no reason not to follow your heart. Stay hungry. Stay foolish.” – Steve Jobs
There’s a bigger bite out of the Apple apple today. With Steve Job’s death, Apple has lost some of it’s shine.
I suppose we all know that the day would come, just as we in Canada knew when we saw Jack Layon’s “time out” press conference just weeks before he died too. But you never really want to acknowledge those morbid thoughts. If you’ve been reading the blog for any lenght of time, you know I am not an Apple fan except for my iPhone. But that doesn’t mean I don’t get Apple. I do.
The imagination made tangible. The dream made real. I don’t doubt that Apple as a company will continue on, but look what happened the first time Steve Jobs departed…
So it’s as good a time as any to reflect on what the loss of any loved person means to our world, whether it’s a family, a circle of friends, a city or a business. I’ll be reflecting.
Many people in my sphere are afflicted with cancer, other diseases, depression, or even just age – and we all know that we are all going to leave this world at some point, and it will always be to soon. I hug you all today, and hope you are all here for the long term.
Bye to Steve Jobs, and to paraphrase Douglas Adams, a favourite author, “So long and thanks for all the stuff!”
