All the hype with social media puts a lot of emphasis on “connections.” Just what is a connection anyway? It used to be like when you would connect your speakers to your stereo – if they worked, you had a good connection! But now we use this term for people and relationships. Connections…seems too mechanical to me.
Are we confusing this word connections with relationships? Or is a “connection” a kind of relationship? Or is it just becoming a noun – “Talk to Bob, he’s a great connection” – just doesn’t ring right to me. It conjures up all sorts of crazy images in my mind!
Friends, colleagues, acquaintances, are now connections.
Now if we’re talking quantum physics, connections may be the correct term. Since on a cosmic, quantum, and metaphysical level we’ are ALL connected – we’re made up of subatomic particles and vibrations and in-between the particles are spaces, and the vibrations are waves. And the space between my particles and your particles and the table’s particles is all the same space so it’s connected to the “cosmos” or “consciousness.”
This article is amazingly outré but the mainstream scientific community is embracing it more and more.

THIS entire notion of connections has fascinated me for a long long time. Strange things happen between people (because we are connected – not connections!), it defies a logical explanation and there are so many examples from my life and those of people I talk to about this connectedness idea.
People talk of being on the same wavelength, in tune with each other, of HAVING a connection – (not being one!). It’s impossible to re-connect, because we were never apart. As humans, most of us definitely take comfort in proximity when we feel a deep connection, but regardless of distance, many scientific experiments have shown that these connections can exist beyond the miles, and withstand the yellowing pages of time. The famous separated identical twins experiments are fascinating in this regard – it will send shivers up your spine and give even the most cynical critic goosebumps.
Most people are resistant to this whole concept because it sounds so fantastical, but the more attuned you are the more it becomes real – just like Robert Lanza theroizes.
So I still dislike the almost irreverent use of the term when it “reality” it is so much more.
CONNECTIONS: they are profound. Because we are all connected. You know what I mean.
