I keep thinking back to my late summer trip. As I process a few new images every day or so, I’m transported back again to those hot and breezy Okanagan mornings. This shot was taken on the ferry from Galena Bay to Nakusp. Not quite the Okanagan – but the Interior but hot just the same.
The morning was hot already and the breeze from the lake was welcome. Tranquil doesn’t describe it – even the ferry itself was quiet as it almost glided across the lake on that early crossing. There was just enough motion to make it exciting – you knew you weren’t standing on a sidewalk, but if you didn’t pay attention you might guess that you were standing still. The lazily approaching horizon may have been your only clue that you were actually in motion.
And the 360 degree view was truly unimaginable. I look at all the shots of this crossing and they all look fake to me – as created in some 3d software. But my friend, rest assured that each one is very very real! It was a 20 minute dream, so unreal that even now my memories feel like it never really happened!
I wish you could have been there. Would you have woken me to tell me I was dreaming?
