Let’s forget about the cold weather for a moment…thanksgiving is a time where we’re supposed to reflect on what we have, and who we are, to embrace gratitude for all the things we are thankful for.
I think most of us try to be thankful each day, maybe just in small ways – like being thankful you didn’t get stopped by a train on the way to work, or grateful that your team won. But what of the BIG thanks?
What are you truly thankful for? I don’t want to sound like the Book of Awesome, but there are many simple things that invoke a sense of gratitude in me.
A beautiful scene, sunset sunrise, the moon, comets, stars, mountains…
Old friends who go away back – you know, the friends that you grew up with, and whose life events you share. Friends you’ll grow old with and with whom you’ll share the aches and pains of our shortening timespan here on earth; and your reading glasses! Friends who “get you” and who you “get”.
Family – kinda like friends except you can’t choose them and so there may be some family that you’re not so thrilled about 🙂
Dogs, animals, wildlife, all creatures great and small.
Opportunities, and the ability to recognize them when they happen. And for having the courage to act on them.
Good timing. (Sometimes I’m thankful for bad timing too 🙂 ) Good times.
Laughing. OMG I am so happy and grateful I can laugh. 🙂 And at the most stupid things – like typing an asinine phrase into Google translate, having it translated, and then using the little speaker to listen to it in another language! WOW think keeps me busy for more hours than I care to admit. Try it for yourself, maybe you are as wacky as I am….http://translate.google.com
And there are so many more…
There’s a photo that i am thankful to have been able to capture on my way home from BC.
