It’s been a year to the day that my dad died. He was my mentor, my buddy, and the quiet force that propelled me to always shoot for success.
He was my example for how to do almost everything. He was honourable, an “old fashioned” gentleman, with manners and tact, whose word was his bond, who always treated people with kindness and respect, even ones that irked him. I miss him. But I won’t forget him.
I had a conversation with a friend whose childhood and family was not so good, and again I realized how fortunate I have been with my family. I can without hyperbole say that my mother and father were great parents, and their (few and minor) flaws and faults were negated because they loved my sister and I and they never failed to let us know this. It’s so amazing the power that is enveloped in a hug.
I think a hug can cure most anything. So hugs to you today. Go forth and hug someone you care about. 🙂
