Remember the image I created a few weeks back for the provincial image salon, when I was inspired by the weird way in which the universe works, after bumping into that old friend? It was loosely about chaos theory and the interconnectedness and infinite nature of time and space. I was seeking suggestions for a title.

How about that!?
My world of chance – or is it coincidence? Whatever it is I still marvel that it unfolds as it does. Deepak Chopra , in his book “The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire” categorises his coincdences as tiny, medium, whoppers, and double-whoppers!
That random crossing of paths, to come crashing back into our history, totally out of the blue it would seem (of course Deepak would disagree!) -was it your creation or mine? Tiny, medium, whopper, or double-whopper coincidence? Time will tell. It certainly wasn’t nothing! 🙂
A big thank-you to Pixels 2.1 Gallery
First Fridays at Pixels 2.1 was so much fun! Thank you to you all who came out to see the Pixels 2.1 Gallery and to learn a little about digital infrared photography.
The Pixels 2.1 team of Joe Kerr and TseLi Luk are more than just creative photographers – they are inspired business people and their dream of a photographers’ hub in Winnipeg at the Pixels Gallery is rapidly starting to take shape.
Another Happy New Year!
Well, here we are again – a new year starting.
2011 promises to be an interesting year photographically. The Nikon pundits are suggesting that there will be a replacement for the D300(s) this year, and hopefully they are correct. I’m also hoping for a D700 replacement, I think a second generation of these awesome cameras will be a monumental gift to the photographic community. I’m certainly pining for some new toys.
Personally, like most of us, I have made a few “resolutions” more like goals really, from the usual, getting in better shape etc. to the more obscure. A trip to the Arches National park and the American South West is in the works. This was spurred on by an iPhone app I saw on the App store and for a few bucks thought at the very least it would be good entertainment for those (rare) times that I showed up too early for a meeting!
However I became captivated with this area and now a “real life” trip is the result.
And my family…health is really the biggest thing we have and with the turmoil of the past year and a half I am going to spend more time with my parents (Aged Ps, as they like to call themselves!). That agonizing passage of time that seems to speed up the older we get is a cause for action on all counts for all of us.
Losing the genetic lottery is one thing but inevitable hand of fate that throws a speeding car into our lane, or that runs a red light at the precise time we enter the intersection…is not something that would sit well with me. But it just means we never know how long we have left.
So making amends, resolving unfinished business, and losing the baggage seems like an appropriate thing to do. Staying in the moment, and creating your future too must be a part of going forward. No more procrastination…Oh well at least I will give it my best shot 🙂 There are always a few loose ends to deal with.
So, let’s begin the journey, one shot at a time…Here’s to a splendid 2011.
