It’s a common phrase – living on the edge. It implies a risky, “out there” wild and crazy type of existence.
But usually it’s not too terribly “edgy” in that those living on the edge usually do it with purpose, as a way of fending off the mid-life crisis, dealing with a divorce or family upheaval, or those inclined to live on the edge are just thrill seekers and risk-takers.
