The “Big Vacation” is proving to be a very active one! Within walking distance of my house, are several challenging walking trails, and within a 2 minute drive (the car is only really needed for climbing the huge hills!) are many stellar hiking trails and pathways. This is amazing to me – to have almost instant access to mountains and views. In the past, hikes such as these would require a few months of planning, saving, a 2 day drive, and a rushed week or 10 days to cram in all in.

To say I am freaking out is an understatement! I have never moved to a different city in my adult life. Many times as a child, but then it was an adventure, with the parental units absorbing all the stress.
It’s not completely an unknown place though. I have spent the last 20 years’ vacations in he Okanagan, and visited and/or stayed in pretty much every town from Vernon to Osoyoos, so I feel like it is my second home – definitely.
