Any other time, any other place, I’d be 5000 ft above sea level, high in the Canadian Rockies. But this year I’ll be foregoing the September ritual – postponing it for another time.
Last year at this time, I had packed up the housed I built almost 28 years ago, and lived in for the same amount of time. Packed my car, loaded up my dog, and said goodby for friends I have had forever. And left for the “big vacation”.
Twelve months later I still yearn for the mountains – the ones with snow capped peaks, jagged edges, and those mind-blowing views. But now they are right next door and the nearest mountain adventures are only 2 hours and 45 minutes away. This still blows my mind. I could go to the mountains for just a day! So I will wait just a little longer.
We do what we do – to survive of thrive. Patience is a virtue, and all that. I want to do more than merely survive. I can party later! But I hope you are thriving, and a-live-ing. And won’t have to wait too long for your next adventure. Let’s chat again next week….
