So here we are, depending on where you are, Day XX of self isolation. All the spring things we should be doing we can’t do. I have been planning a few photo trips which are now postponed. The joy of being only a few hours away from my favourite places, rather than a few days, has been replaced with some deflated feelings of “Not so fast Grasshopper!”
More important, are the plans of our local businesses, who serve us all, whether celebratory meals, or a happy gathering spot with friend, I want them all to be able to reopen and thrive again in the new version of the world.
I feel for the folks whose work has been suspended – who fear the future.
But this too shall pass and with every sunrise I experience here in these weird times, I understand that we are moving one day closer to “normal” once again.
Are your summer plans being altered? Have you been shut out of your job? Are you missing friends, family, routine chores that were monotonous at the time but now you’d cherish? How are you holding up? Please feel free to comment below.
The lost summer of 2020…. remember what/who you are missing most, and savour them even more. Take no one for granted and be in the moment and mindful of everything/one you love. Some good will come from all of this – we can make it a Grander Good.
