I am having a hard time understanding that it’s almost May! May, 2019!
But…here we are…
I apologize for the lack of updates, and general silence here. Photography has taken a bit of a back seat to life these days. But in actual new news, i am working on a brand new blog, and very possibly archiving the main website.
Do not go gently…
One of the other realizations that hit me like a bat out of h*ck is that my main site has been in existence for well over 10 years. It’s had a few facelifts over the years, but the content is quickly becoming very old. When it was launched it was one of not too many digital photography “how to” sites on the Internet. It ranked in the top 100 such sites in the Alexa index.
Today there are too many how to nature photography sites to count, and more than enough instagram feeds to keep you viewing through eternity. Daredevil adventure photographers, “influencers” on social media, captivate their followers with a myriad of stunning locations and death defying angles, supported with free gear, and paid travel. All barely realistic for most of us.
I don’t know if theres a place any longer, for a little site that offers guidance for “real” photography, the kind that 99% of the photogs/wannabees will most likely need.
So, i will be contemplating this, and depending on my energy level and inspiration to keep writing ( updating old technical info), the main site my quietly fade out.
My new blog is photo and video related, with a twist, ( yes video!) gotta keep up with the tech one way or another. Keep with me for another wee bit- it will be ready soon. Double your fun🤣🤣🤣
