For Christmas this year I received one of those DNA testing kits that allow you to trace your roots. Very interesting! In the course of researching the basic info that comes with the test results, I also uncovered an entire world of family trees and tracking ancestors and living relatives with this DNA data.So for the last 6 weeks since I got my results back, I have been unearthing distant cousins all over the globe. My immediate family is very small. My dad was an only child. His cousin was an only child. His grandfather was the only child of a second wife…

So I have become obsessed with not only the Morrison lineage, but I have found dome other interesting facts about family history.

Thankfully, the Scottish government has digitized documents going back to the 1300s and for a small fee these can be ordered and viewed online! I have been having so much fun on this family-tree scavenger hunt!  If you’re interested I will be providing a link to my Family Tree DNA match page.
