Here’s a Friday shot for you. Out on the white expanse that is the White Sands National Monument in New Mexico. We were hoping to get sunset there and raced against the clock, all the way from Phoenix! But when we arrived at the park office we were told that the park closed at 5:00 and no one was allows inside after that.
The Park Rangers all had guns. So we went to Plan B, sunrise, but no that was not to be either. The Park opened at 7:00 am, well after the sun had broken over the horizon. Oh well, we drove 3500 miles to see it so better “give it our best shot!”
The students were having a great time posting and capturing each other in Adventure hero states! The rest of us scattered like the tumble weeds in search of the one iconic image we could hold as the great memory of White Sands.
This shot is not my favorite, the light got flat really fast, but for all of us in the winter world, making the distinction that this is sand and not snow is a difficult concept to take in!
ttyl!
