In case you haven’t heard yet about Winnipeg coolest photography even(s), I thought I’d let you know about the Flash Photographic Festival happening in Winnipeg, throughout October. it’s a quirky but creative month long immersive exhibit where all of Winnipeg becomes an art gallery to show case all types of photography, as well as supporting venues for photographic workshops, demos, discussion panels and artist-led photoshoots. There are pop up galleries in laundromats, restaurants, book stores – just about anywhere there are walls, there could be a photo display. And there are events, several photo walks through some of Winnipeg’s most interesting places, as well as photo shoots, and workshops.
It’s one of the most in depth photo shows I have ever had the pleasure of participating in. While I don’t have a personal show anywhere, my work is being exhibited in a welcoming display at the Winnipeg Airport along with 3 other Professional Photographers of Canada Members. I AM however participating in an iPhone photography panel on October 11, with Mike Deal from the Free press and Mike Peters – from 1 – 2, at the Free Press News Cafe in the Exchange. Admission is free, so do pake plans to drop in and see how you can make crazy-good photos with your iphone! (or any other phone/camera).
While September is Black and White photography month over on the main site and social media, October will be iphone photography month, so be sure to keep in touch for full follow ups on the FlashFest talk. The big finish will be with an autumn iPhone workshop that will tie it all together. Of course you’ll be invited 🙂
Enjoy these last few glorious days of summer – and shoot well.
