Do you ever think about the things you’ve forgotten? I’m not talking about losing your car keys, but more of memories and their fragments. The older we get the less we remember, and I am realizing that I’m missing some important recollections. You know, some of those important “first times” that should be burned in one’s memory. For example, I remember the first time I met the person who would become one of my long running and so called “best friend.” But I don’t remember the first time I traveled on my own. I don’t remember my first day of school. I remember my first day of university. I had forgotten completely about a person I had hired for a job, it was only when a friend showed me a photo of the office team that I had a vague recollection that I thought I knew this person. Crazy.
Early onset Alzheimers? Or just everyday missing memories? I can’t remember!
Well, my next photo project is going to be about reclaiming the missing fragments, and like a jig saw puzzle, photographically re assembling the components into something coherent.
I’d live to hear your missing memories, and if you were able to find them, how did you do it?
