Oldies but goodies, isn’t that what TBT is all about? I got a million of ’em.
196??? – Brandon, Manitoba. My mom, sister and me. Our old house is still there. I have visited it from time to time when I ‘m in town.
We were new to Canada back then, and my dad wanted to “fit in”. So he turned the entire back yard into a skating rink and taught himself how to skate. Then he taught me.
As the only house with a rink, boy did we fit in! There wasn’t a kid in the neighbourhood who didn’t love my dad.
When summer arrived, – this is where the fitting in part failed – he plowed up all the grass and grew potatoes. Can you say “immigrant!?”
