I am back in the inner city – working some some amazingly creative and talented kids, and we’ve been learning about how to use BACKLIGHT to make dramatic photos. To help the kids understand, I talked about it being a way to create “halos” around your subject. Yesterday we did a “photo walk” through the community. It was so cold, but as we walked we were rewarded…We came across a church which by itself was a cool looking rather gothic structure! But as we walked around our subject to see all the views, I heard a small voice yell out “Ms Alex, Ms Alex!!!!” There IS a halo around the church! Look!” And I looked up and wow wow wow, a perfect sundog enveloped the sun, and from our angle of view, it indeed was a halo!
