You know, I’ve been on the fine planet for more than a few years now and I have seen my fair share of Springs. But no matter how many I experience, it always seems like the first time I’ve witnessed the phenomenon! Each popping leaf seems amazing to me; all the sounds of the birds, the grouse, the nighthawks, the frogs, the crickets are a novel symphony that is all so new to me. The smells ( i say its oxygen!) of grass, and leaves, and blossoms, of rain…it’s like I never experienced it before and it’s so wonder-full. Can you tell I love the spring!
Even though it arrived so late this year, and it hasn’t been a hot one, I still love every minute of it. I think this is the one time of the year when I am most in the moment, taking it all in and grateful for the experience and that it always feels new and surprising and remarkable and awe-some.
In the early morning when I take Baron for his first walk of the day, the morning is another world. Devoid of human sounds, but full of new life, we stroll along and take it all in. Walking a dog is another of those “life’s greatest small treasures.” We can learn alot from our dogs. They live for now – enjoy the smallest things, and their greatest pleasure is sharing their enjoyment of that great exploration of the neighborhood at 6:30 am!
Happy Wednesday! Enjoy the day.
