You know how much I love my tiny Gopro HD camera – and as a gift to myself (hehehe) I just bought the LCD back that enables you to actually SEE what your photographing. What a concept.
So now rather than making test shots or footage to check whether you have the full field of view (FOV) covered, you have the benefit of what all other digial cameras have, an LCD viewer on the back.
I’m loving it!
But there are a couple of problems. The add-on battery pack is not comparable with the LCD back – they are not “stackable.” Not a super biggie. If you’re doing startrails or time lapse, you’re going wide anyways so the changes are you have the full FOV captured.
The other inconvenience is that with the battery back and the LCD back, I now have a huge collection of housing backs, each housing back has the regular sound-enabled version AND a waterproof version, and the LCD comes with an additions 4 backs! Not much we can do about this – versatility is a key feature of the little GoPro.
However, these are minor compared to the benefits of being able to see what you’re doing. $79.00 USD or $99.00 at Bestbuy in Canada.
On my Christmas list is the GoPro 2 – extra resolution more fun GoPro2!
